Snug in the cool Sebastopol Hills section of the Russian River Valley, the Hurst Vineyard is the lucky beneficiary of sandy Goldridge soil paired with Petaluma Gap marine air. We always expect great things from this vineyard, and 2013 delivered in spades. The interplay of acids and tannins in the 2013 Hurst Pinot Noir are tantalizing while leaving plenty of spolight for the lusciously layered aromatics. This wine is heavenly from the moment it’s opened, but short- to medium-term cellaring will pay off handsomely.

This Hurst, in contrast to previous years, is one of the most accessible of our 2014 wines early on. Even with the slightest hint of air, the site's inherent poise is revealed through the wine's fresh, spotlit aromatics, lively mouthfeel, and liquid tannins. This wine, while quite accessible early on, will reward short- and medium-term cellaring.

We are lucky to be able to source a scant few tons from Mendocino's famous Weir Vineyard for several years running. The almost continental climate of the Yorkville Highlands combined with rigorous farming create a wine of ethereal grace and underlying tension.

Every year we at Bluxome produce an anomaly. Something unique that goes against our status quo.  We name it "The Hounds" after a particularly rabble-rousing group of ruffians and thieves that bucked the law in San Francisco in the 19th century

The 2013 Sonoma Coast pinot is a vivid, focused example of a wine from one of the the New World's Pinot homeland appellations. Fractured, diverse soils, cool, breezy nights, and warm days create a wine of substance without heaviness.

The 2014 Balinard is fragrant with red-flesh plum, pine needle and hints of red fruit, and earth. Generous acidity, supple mouth feel and satisfying finish. Balinard Vineyard sits high on Morelli Lane atop Harrison Grade, in between Graton and Occidental. The vineyard, planted in the mid-2000s on an old apple orchard, is a mix of 115, Calera, and suitcase clones.

Upon comparison to previous vintages, the 2014 Weir pinot offers a denser pallet weight. Ample acidity provides the backbone for this bolder expression of fruit. With a touch more new oak for this vintage, our goal was to provide a hint of texture that would weave harmoniously with the characteristic red fruit and mineral-acid profile.

One of our finest Syrahs to date. This 2014 exemplifies what Rhóne-style variety out of the Russian River Valley is capable of. Cooler temperature fermentation was a key component in the extraction of fine-grained tannin, deep color, and beautiful dark fruit characteristics.

Our 2014 Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the biodynamic El Nido Vineyard in Glen Ellen. The warm days and cooler nights work together to create a rich, perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with copious, yet subtle, tannins. Those tannins, along with the full-bodied and mouth-coating feel on the palate lead to a graceful finish with notes of wild berries, cherry cola, licorice, and mocha.
