Snug in the cool Sebastopol Hills section of the Russian River Valley, the Hurst Vineyard is the lucky beneficiary of sandy Goldridge soil paired with Petaluma Gap marine air. We always expect great things from this vineyard, and 2013 delivered in spades. The interplay of acids and tannins in the 2013 Hurst Pinot Noir are tantalizing while leaving plenty of spolight for the lusciously layered aromatics. This wine is heavenly from the moment it’s opened, but short- to medium-term cellaring will pay off handsomely.
