2014 South of the Slot Pinot Noir
The "South of the Slot" Pinot Noir is a bit of a departure for us -- most of the wines we make reflect an appellation (notably the Russian River Valley) or a single-vineyard (like Balinard). With this wine, we sought instead to make a representation of the winery; we simply made the finest blend of Pinot we possibly could--in a bolder style--utilizing plots that had revealed themselves to be the head of class.
Aroma: Hazy red-fruit aromatics of shaved oak, walnut skin, rhubarb compote, macerated strawberry.
Palate: Medium-bodied, bursting with fresh flavors of boysenberry, mulberry, soft, fleshy/expansive, ripe, dried montmorency cherry.
